National chains may get more attention, but small, locally owned businesses are at the heart of communities around the country.  In Arizona alone, around 99% of companies fall into this category, according to the Small Business Association (SBA).  Similar numbers are reported throughout the U.S. in the latest data reported by the SBA’s Office of Advocacy.

This makes the small business community a powerful and important part of the economy.
